On every Sri Rama Navami it is an usual routine to listen to Sri Seetharamula Kalyanam Chuthamu Rarandi. In fact there is a film with this title and at every marriage function, this song is a must. For this Sri Rama Navami, let's remember the brilliant composer behind this song as well.

NAT Pictures headed by Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, NTR, produced the classic Sita Rama Kalyanam and the movie became a resounding blockbuster that would be remembered for years to come in 1961. NTR, himself directed the film and he shocked many with his dedication to pull off some stunning visuals and mental strength to deliver his best as Ravana, while directing it.

Coming to the composition of the song, Galipenchala Narasimha Rao, the composer, did not work in many films but gave memorable songs to Telugu Cinema. He is the original composer of Vivaha Bhojambu song in 1936 and it was re-worked by Ghantasala in 1957, Mayabaazar which was adopted from drama Sashirekha Parinayam that was made into film in 1936.

Galipenchala Narasimha Rao worked for just 13 films but gave remarkable songs that last for ages. He wrote books like Ganakala and Ganavaradhi while he also composed 1000 Keerthanas and 300 Tanavarnas with full notations. NTR wanted to work with the great pundit for this film and he gave a memorable album for Telugu movie in his last ever film work. Unfortunately, he died in 1964 at the age of 60 due to medical ailments.
